Montréal en Lumière

MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE is one of the largest winter festivals in the world. Every February, more than 1.3 million visitors brave the cold to enjoy original programming, including performance art, gastronomy and free family activities, to say nothing of the famous Nuit blanche!

Music, circus, song, theatre, dance... every facet of Montréal culture shares the spotlight thanks to the artistic programming of MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE. The festival uses the whole city as a stage, with rich and eclectic programming that features icons and new artists alike, from home and abroad. The festival presents a plethora of new discoveries, original creations and mind-blowing performances. Every year, Place des Arts welcomes many prestigious artists to the festival in its biggest show venues.

The free outdoor site, located on the Place des Arts plaza and in the Quartier des spectacles, overflows with artistic and food-focused activities: braziers, shows, activities for kids, stunning light displays and more. You’ll love the giant slide and the zip line, located on the Esplanade de la Place des Arts!

Nuit blanche

Every year, Nuit blanche à Montréal offers more than 200 activities, most of them for free. Singing and music shows, exhibitions and film screenings—Place des Arts takes part wholeheartedly in the night’s bright and festive programming!
