The 2013 and 2014 appearances at the Festival by Kristian Bezuidenhout left an indelible impression on all who heard this wizard of the keyboard, for the great clarity and sensitivity of his playing, as well as for the colour and expression he revealed in the works of Mozart, Schubert and Beethoven. In the wake of a recording released earlier this year, the pianist dedicates his Festival recital to music of Haydn, who was known as the “father of the symphony,” which promises to be a sheer delight.
