In accordance with government directives, Place des Arts has suspended its activities until further notice. These measures have been put into effect due to circumstances relating to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic which are beyond our control. Consequently, the OSM Chorus concert: exile according to Brahms, Stravinsky, and Britten concert scheduled on May 16 has been cancelled. Ticket holders will be reimbursed directly.

Exile is and remains an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists, some of whom had first-hand experience of it: Eisler, Britten, and Stravinsky. The theme of exile is also at the root of Brahms magnificent Song of Destiny and inspires today's artists Dany Laferrière and Keiko Devaux, co-creators of a new work for the OSM Chorus.

Hanns Eisler, Gegen den Krieg (Against War), op. 51
Britten, Hymn to St Cecilia, op. 27
Stravinsky, Mass
Hindemith, Six Songs
Brahms, Schicksalslied (Song of Destiny), op. 54
Keiko Devaux, World premiere – OSM commission
Michael Tippett, Five Negro Spirituals, from A Child of Our Time, excerpts

Also presented as part of Podium 2020, organized by Choral Canada and the Alliance chorale du Québec.
