For this second concert in our Soloist Series, the Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal has invited members of Taylor Donaldson’s own big band to join them to present an exciting program of new original music.

The ONJ trombonist and composer/arranger Taylor Donaldson imagined a concert reflecting what first drew him to jazz and to writing music: the striking sound and power of the orchestra, the way in which the magic formula of jazz rhythm, melody and harmony comes together to fire the imagination, and that special kind of joyous camaraderie that comes out of playing swinging tunes with friends.
