George Benson is appreciated as both a musician and a performer. This expert improviser and vibrant entertainer is considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time, thanks to his singular approach to the guitar and his strong sense of swing. In the late 1960s he sat in on Miles Davis' Miles in the Sky sessions and also put a personal spin on the tunes from the Beatles’ Abbey Road. The septuagenarian, who released such hits as Give Me the Night, Turn Your Love Around and On Broadway, also collaborated with Gorillaz in 2018 to create the rhythmic piece Humility. The opening act: Kandace Springs, the new darling of the Blue Note label.
