Beethoven Marathon

Beethoven’s nine symphonies conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin with four concerts in three days, this is sure to be a true musical marathon! Each program features two or three Beethoven symphonies. You’ll also hear pieces written by the four winners of the OM’s composition competition in honour of its 40th season.

Da-da-da-dum... Fate is knocking at the door! There’s nothing quite like the four powerful notes that kick off Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. But before things get serious, the program keeps it light with the ever-optimistic and joyful Symphony No. 8 and Symphony No. 4, which is closer in style to the composer’s early Classical work.
