For this Classical Spree, the OSM invites the youthful Ensemble Obiora, formed by musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds, for a awesome concert on the theme of the Americas. The ensemble will present Dvořák’s magnificent “American” Quartet, as well as the Fantasia for Saxophone by Brazilian composer Villa-Lobos, featuring celebrated American (United States) saxophonist Branford Marsalis. The works will be preceded by George Walker’s Lyric for Strings.
