Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the second round of the Concours musical international de Montréal scheduled on May 29 and 30, 2021 (initially planned for May 7 and 8, 2020) has been cancelled. Ticket holders will be reimbursed directly. However, we are pleased to announce that the CMIM 19th edition will be entirely online and free from April 26 to May 14, 2021.
The Concours musical international de Montréal is held every year and presents three disciplines; piano, voice, and violin, in a three-year rotation. This year will be a tribute to piano! During these 10 days of concert, 24 of the brightest talents from around the world will vie for $150,000 in prizes and grants.
For this second round of the CMIM, the 12 semifinalists will each perform one-hour recitals at Bourgie Hall. They must play at least one piece by Johann Sebastian Bach during the first round or semifinal.
This round will take place over 4 sessions, with the jury announcing the 6 finalists at the end of the final session. Finals will occur on may 12 and 13 at the Maison symphonique with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal.
