Talk followed by a workshop-show
Pierre Khoury, a teacher of psychology at the Université de Montréal as well as a coach, artistic director of the “Belly dance with a twist” events, a jury member in several Oriental dance competitions and, above all, a dancer and choreographer, captivates and fascinates with his movements and his Oriental dance productions. This talented young man from Syria has been enriched by the course of his artistic learning, in the Arab world, Canada and New York. He will demonstrate this though his ease in various styles including baladi, dervish and dabké.
The audience is invited to take part in this hybrid event, a cross between workshop-lecture, master class and show. It fits in with the thematic series of the 19th Festival du Monde Arabe de Montréal: Songs of mutants, on the shores of Gibraltar.
