Involving 40 dancers and as many participants as the Esplanade of Place des Arts can accommodate, dance, music, and architecture come together in a multidisciplinary outdoor performance. Members of the public, phones in hand, choose to follow one or another group of dancers on designated itineraries, guided by an exclusive smartphone application.
Although hundreds of spectators may actively participate in the performance, headsets allow each one to experience the moment in a private space thanks to a unique soundtrack that unfolds as the spectator winds through the public space and the dancers’ bodies. Simultaneously, multiple private experiences are taking place in tandem as the performance is in continually movement. Randomness, decision-making, and the onlookers are also integral parts of the experience.
