Beethoven Marathon

Beethoven’s nine symphonies conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin with four concerts in three days, this is sure to be a true musical marathon! Each program features two or three Beethoven symphonies. You’ll also hear pieces written by the four winners of the OM’s composition competition in honour of its 40th season.

Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 moves out of the darkness into the light to embody joy and universal kinship. The Orchestre will be welcoming the Chœur Métropolitain and internationally renowned Canadian soloists to the stage for an unforgettable performance. But first, the OM will bring the composer’s irreverence to life in the opening measures of Symphony No. 1. Experience Beethoven’s bookends: a promising debut and a revolutionary finale.
