Cultural Animation

Cultural Animation

Inaugurated in 2012 after major renovations, the Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme is a vast indoor public space that includes three entertainment areas: a public square, an exhibition room and a screen mosaic wall. Every year, it welcomes more than 250 artists involved in programming more than 100 free cultural activities.

These unique spaces were specifically designed to provide varied artistic experiences for free. The programming, supported by the Fondation de la Place des Arts, aims to raise awareness about the arts—performing, visual and digital. It includes musical performances, special events, installations, exhibitions and digital creations. Festivals make their home here and present sneak peeks of their programs; students show the results of their work. The Espace culturel is a living space and an unparalleled development and awareness-raising tool that helps Place des Arts to promote access to the arts.

The Fondation de la Place des Arts, major partner in our Cultural Activities Program

Thanks to the generosity of its donors, the Fondation de la Place des Arts has financially supported the majority of the free programming at Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme since the space was created in 2012. Learn how you can support the Fondation in pursuing its mission!
