FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE JAZZ DE MONTRÉAL

Upcoming Events

Ranked as the world’s largest jazz festival by Guinness World Records. Each year in July, the festival features some 650 shows, 200 of which are indoor shows, drawing over 2 million spectators. It’s the perfect opportunity to see and hear a succession of the most renowned and most promising artists in the jazz world, appearing in several of PDA’s performance halls.

Founded in 1980, the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal resonates through North America’s largest francophone city over the course of ten days in early summer, transforming the Place des Arts sector into a unique site, open from noon to midnight, that is designed to meet festival-goers’ every need, right in the heart of downtown, in an area closed to automobile traffic. During the Festival, Montreal is the heartbeat of Planet Jazz!

Each year, Place des Arts, its esplanade, the outdoor stages bordering its site, and surrounding concert halls become a gathering place for all types of music relating to jazz.

The Festival hosts some 3,000 musicians and street performers from 30 countries, and features around 1,000 concerts, activities, and presentations each year.
