Cultural activity organized by the Conseil québécois du théâtre


As a part of World Theatre Day and in order to promote theatre arts to the general public, thirty students from the various professional theatre schools will interact with people strolling through the Espace Georges-Émile Lapalme at the Place des Arts in Montreal.  They will present short excerpts, sung or spoken, by Quebec authors, as well as operating puppets.

Play : Unpublished Text from Marie-Hélène Larose-Truchon, graduate student of the National Theatre School of Canada's Playwriting Program in 2012
 

Plus, from 7 pm to 7:45 pm, public figures will read extracts of a letter they wrote on the theme "If a was Minister of Culture...".


Events that mark World Theatre Day help raise public awareness of the role that theatrical creation plays in the development of society as well as being an opportunity for performers to share a vision of their art with their audience.
