Salle Claude-Léveillée is named in honour of the pioneering artist who was the first Québec-born chansonnier to play Place des Arts. Dedicated primarily to showcasing francophone singer-songwriters, it is Place des Arts’ most intimate venue. Notable features include the small (5.5 m x 4 m) thrust stage and flexible panel configuration (fixed or moveable). The SACEF (Société pour l'avancement de la chanson d’expression française) organizes its Weekends de la chanson Québecor here, as well as the annual Ma Première Place des Arts competition, which promotes young, up-and-coming singer/ songwriters.
