Théâtre Jean-Duceppe Rental

As the residence of the Duceppe company from September to May, Théâtre Jean-Duceppe (formerly Théâtre Port-Royal) boasts an exceptionally wide stage, bringing artists and audiences into close proximity.

Throughout the year, the venue also hosts a variety of lectures, as well as theatre and dance shows, including those of the Festival TransAmériques (FTA).

  • Capacity: 765 seats.
  • Perfect for: plays, lectures, galas, dance shows, launches.
  • Renovations and improvements since 2016:
    • rehearsal rooms, some adjacent rooms, Salon d’honneur (VIP lounge) and artists’ entrance.
    • The space includes a small orchestra pit with room for ten musicians.
    • Italian-style theatre with a vomitorium and tiered seating facing the stage. Close proximity to the audience and perfect visibility.
  • Dimensions: 42 by 17 metres.

Adjacent Spaces for Rent

Théâtre Jean-Duceppe offers show producers and corporate event organizers adjacent spaces, which can be rented alone or along with the performance hall.

Many services are available for an additional fee in each of the adjacent rental spaces: greeters, security and bar staff; table, chair and red carpet rental; catering service; cleaning and setup services, and more.

Salon d'honneur

Adjacent to the performance space on the third floor. Renovated in 2016.

Capacity: 75 people standing (cocktail party).

Entrance

Located at the coat check level.

Capacity: 40 people standing (cocktail party) or 30 people seated.

Odd- and even-numbered foyers*

Featuring two bars, the foyers at Théâtre Jean-Duceppe showcase a number of art works and can be used for cocktail parties or meetings with the artists.

Capacity: more than 700 people standing (cocktail party), 150 people seated for lectures, 400 people seated split along the two sides for banquets.
