Access to information

Under the Act Respecting Access to Documents Held by Public Bodies and the Protection of Personal Information (L.R.Q. c. A-2.1) (hereinafter the “Act”), you can access documents held by public organizations such as the Société de la Place des Arts de Montréal. However, the Société can invoke the exceptions set out in the Act and refuse to share certain documents.

Please address your request to the person in charge of access to documents or of protection of personal information, whose contact information is provided at the bottom of this page.

In order to process your request, please make sure that it is as precise as possible so we can properly determine what document you wish to obtain.

Once your request has been submitted, the Place des Arts will confirm its reception. The Place des Arts will also inform you of the estimated response time. After receiving your request, the Place des Arts is obliged to respond within 20 days. In accordance with the Act, the Place des Arts can extend its response time for up to ten (10) days if it cannot process your request without impeding the normal course of its activities. The Place des Arts will inform you should such an extension be required.

Should your request be refused, you may appeal the decision to the Commission d’accès à l’information. The Commission must receive your written appeal within 30 days following the decision.

You may also refer to the decisions made pursuant to the Act Respecting Access to Documents Held by Public Bodies and the Protection of Personal Information by going to the Distribution of Information page.
